Hiroshima hosts exhibitions and screenings to commemorate atomic bombings

In Hiroshima, various exhibitions and screenings are being held to commemorate the atomic bombings and promote peace. The “Atomic Bomb and War Exhibition,” organized by the Hiroshima Association for Successful Atomic Bomb Exhibitions, recently concluded at the Hiroshima Prefectural Cultural Center. The event featured 150 panels, wartime artifacts, and personal testimonies from survivors (Hibakusha) to pass the history of the tragedy to younger generations.

Simultaneously, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is hosting a screening series of television programs produced by local broadcasters, including NHK Hiroshima and four commercial stations. This 10th annual event features 14 works documenting the legacy of the bombings and efforts toward peace, such as the long-term memorial services held at the Atomic Bomb Memorial Tower. These initiatives aim to foster cross-generational and international dialogue regarding nuclear disarmament and the prevention of future conflicts.
