Hirving Lozano joins LA Galaxy and eyes return to Mexico national team
Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano has joined LA Galaxy on loan from San Diego FC through December, with an option for a permanent transfer. The move follows a period of uncertainty for the Mexican forward, who had not played competitively in 2026 after San Diego FC announced he was not part of their sporting plans earlier this year.
During his introductory press conference, Lozano expressed his desire to return to the Mexican national team under the leadership of Rafael Márquez. He emphasized that he remains available for the squad as long as he is playing professionally and intends to support the team if called upon. Lozano also cited Lionel Messi’s ability to maintain high performance in MLS as an inspiration for his own goal of returning to the international stage.
Lozano aims to regain match fitness and competitive rhythm with LA Galaxy as the club pushes for playoff positioning in the final 15 matches of the regular season.
