Hirving Lozano transfers from San Diego FC to LA Galaxy

Mexican forward Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano has officially transferred from San Diego FC to LA Galaxy within Major League Soccer (MLS). The move follows a period of disagreement between Lozano and the San Diego coaching staff, which resulted in the player being excluded from team call-ups since December 2025 despite his status as a franchise player.

San Diego FC originally acquired Lozano from European football for approximately 12 million euros, providing him with one of the league's highest salaries at 9.3 million dollars annually. Although his departure was marked by friction, former teammate Manny Manchado praised Lozano, stating he will always be remembered as a significant figure and a foundational signing for the San Diego organization.

Upon his arrival in Los Angeles, Lozano was greeted by fans, including some who shouted support for his former club, Napoli. He has already begun training with the LA Galaxy squad.
