His Majesty’s Correctional Services launches youth crime-prevention initiative

His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS) has launched a crime-prevention education initiative targeting youth in northern Hhohho. During a zonal children’s rally at Mashobeni Methodist Church, correctional officers provided guidance on recognizing and resisting gangsterism.

Officers Luvuyo Dlamini and Banele Mohale addressed the children regarding the illusions of power within gangs and the long-term consequences of criminal activity. The briefing included discussions on discipline, responsible decision-making, and the realities of imprisonment, such as the loss of personal freedom and social stigma. Officials also urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant regarding their children's associations and behavioral changes to prevent early involvement in crime.
