Hisarya Jazz festival returns to Bulgaria this August

The second edition of the ‘Hisarya Jazz’ festival is scheduled to take place on August 28 and 29 at the Summer Theater in Hisarya, Bulgaria. Under the theme ‘Hisarya Jazz 2026 – Two Nights of Timelessness,’ the event features a diverse musical program blending jazz with electronic music, Brazilian rhythms, soul, funk, and modern pop.

Artistic and program director Martin Denev has curated the lineup, which includes several distinct projects. The first night begins with Denev’s ‘Code 359: Music Postcards,’ a series of musical compositions inspired by Bulgaria. This is followed by Miroslava Katsarova’s ‘Paloma’ project, which focuses on Brazilian repertoire.

The second night features a quartet led by flutist Borislav Yasev celebrating 35 years of creative work, alongside guests such as Mikhail Yosifov and Vladimir Karparov. The festival concludes with a performance by pop and soul singer Beloslava accompanied by the JP3 trio.
