Hisense to roll out Dolby Vision 2 on select 2026 TV models
Dolby Laboratories and Hisense have announced the availability of Dolby Vision 2 on selected Hisense television models. This rollout represents the first step in deploying Dolby’s next-generation imaging technology to a global audience.
Initial support includes Hisense 2026 models from the UX, UR9, UR8, and U7 series (including the U7 Pro in Europe, Middle East, Africa, and parts of the Americas) that utilize Google TV or VIDAA OS. The technology will be delivered via firmware updates over the coming weeks in North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Dolby Vision 2 features a new image engine and Content Intelligence, which uses metadata to dynamically optimize scenes. High-end models may access a 'Max' version of the technology, which includes 'Authentic Motion' to reduce stutter in 24fps content and 'Light Sense 2' to adjust image rendering based on ambient room brightness. While the technology requires a MediaTek Pentonic 800 chip or newer, it is designed to enhance existing Dolby Vision content, including films, series, gaming, and live sports. Streaming services such as CANAL+, iQIYI, and Peacock are expected to utilize the expanded capabilities.
