Historian Angelo d’Orsi critiques Russian interference theories regarding Italian student protests
Historian Angelo d’Orsi, professor of the History of Political Thought at the University of Turin, has challenged claims that recent youth protests in Italy are driven by Russian interference. Speaking on Radio Cusano, d’Orsi contested interpretations made by Defense Minister Guido Crosetto and journalist Maurizio Molinari, who have suggested a link between domestic unrest and Vladimir Putin’s influence.
D’Orsi argued that such theories overlook the immediate socio-economic grievances of students, such as the rising cost of living. He criticized the prevailing Russophobic sentiment in Italian media, asserting that these narratives distract from the reality of the current social crisis and the struggles facing the younger generation.
