Historic architecture and traditional landscapes offer immersive cultural experiences

Various historic architectural sites and traditional landscapes offer unique immersive experiences for visitors. In the United States, certain homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright allow guests to stay overnight to experience the architecture intimately. Examples include the Still Bend house in Wisconsin and the Duncan and Mantila houses in Pennsylvania’s Polymath Park, which were preserved and relocated to protect them from local development.

In Slovenia, the Velika planina plateau in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps maintains a living tradition of seasonal pastoral life. Located at an altitude of approximately 1,500 meters, the area features around 140 traditional wooden huts with distinctive shingle roofs. Shepherds inhabit the settlement from June to September, maintaining livestock and producing local dairy products, preserving a way of life that remains active rather than purely museum-based.
