Historic Beneš and Kramář villas opened to public in the Czech Republic

The villa of former Czechoslovak President Edvard Beneš and his wife Hana, located in Sezimové Ústí, was transferred to the Husitské Museum in Tábor. The hand‑over, timed with the 142nd anniversary of Edvard Beneš’s birth, fulfills Hana Benešová’s last will and places the villa, its garden, forest park, burial site and exhibition pavilion under museum management.

Separately, Kramářova Villa on Hradčany, the former residence of the first Czechoslovak prime minister Karel Kramář, opened its doors to the public on 6 June. The Government Office offers free guided tours of the villa’s historic interiors, terraces and French‑style gardens as part of a series of open‑door days for historic sites.

Both events highlight efforts to make Czech historical properties accessible to visitors and to preserve national heritage.
