Historic Car Rallies Draw Enthusiasts in Křenovice and Telč, Czech Republic

On July 11, 2026 the 17th Křenovice historic‑vehicle ride began at noon, featuring 143 vintage cars and motorcycles that tackled water‑pistol challenges, timed tasks and a long countryside route before returning to the start field. Organisers awarded prizes for age, elegance, best period costume and rare restorations, including a 1987 BMW Z1 prototype discovered by a local enthusiast and discussed for a future German exhibition.

The same day the “Mezi dvěma branami” vintage‑car race filled Telč’s Zachariáše z Hradce square with about sixty pre‑war automobiles, some over a century old. Competitors followed a three‑kilometre circuit between two town gates, while hundreds of spectators watched. The event showcased Czech makes such as Aero, Praga and Tatra, and highlighted the 1906 Franklin, one of the few functional cars of its era.

Both rallies attracted large numbers of fans, celebrated automotive heritage and underscored the growing popularity of historic vehicle gatherings in the South Bohemian region.
