Historic Car Rally Launches Across Roztocze, Poland

The VII Rajd Ziemi Lubelskiej for historic vehicles began on Friday, 12 June, in Janów Lubelski and will conclude on Saturday, 13 June after covering nearly 200 km of remote western Roztocze roads. Around 30 pre‑war cars are taking part, including a 1934 MG PA acquired by Ireneusz Tomyślak, who said he bought it for "just under 150 thousand złoty" and that similar cars now sell for 28‑38 thousand pounds. Participants also showcase a Citroën SM, praised for its advanced features such as air‑conditioning and electric windows, and a limited‑edition Lancia Beta Montecarlo. Organisers emphasise the preservation of vintage machinery, noting the effort required to maintain and source parts for these classic models.
