Historical building fire in Eskişehir's Odunpazarı district

A fire broke out in a two-story historical building located on Kurşunlu Mosque Street in the historical Odunpazarı Houses district of Eskişehir, Turkey. The fire, which reportedly started in a chimney, quickly spread to the roof, causing the roof to collapse and severely damaging the upper floors.

Nine people were affected by smoke inhalation during the incident. Local business owners reported that the dense smoke covered the entire street, forcing residents and tourists to cover their faces or seek shelter. While the fire was brought under control by firefighting teams, cooling efforts were required to prevent the flames from spreading to adjacent historical structures.

The owner of the affected cafe, Yiğit Torun, stated that he had personally restored the building when he first acquired it and expressed his intention to rebuild it. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
