Historical excursions explore castle ruins in Germany and Luxembourg

Various historical excursions are being organized to explore European castle ruins. In Germany, a guided 22 km hike through the Flossenbürger Wald offers participants a route through the Upper Palatinate Forest. The trek includes visits to the Schellenberg castle ruins, the Haselstein ruin, and the Flossenbürg castle ruins, while providing insights into regional geological history and local flora and fauna.

In Luxembourg, history enthusiasts are visiting the Falkenstein castle ruins near Vianden. Dating back to the 13th century, the site features early Gothic architecture, including a chapel consecrated in 1342. The excursion allows visitors to explore the remains of the keep and the castle's historical significance within the Our valley landscape.
