Historical figures Maximilian Kolbe and Nazario Sauro remembered

Saint Maximilian Kolbe, a Catholic priest, died in a Nazi concentration camp after volunteering to take the place of a condemned father to save him. In Italy, a ceremony was held to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the death of Nazario Sauro. A sailor who joined the Italian Navy during World War I, Sauro was captured by Austro-Hungarian forces and executed by hanging in 1916. The commemoration brought together various institutions and exile associations to honor his role as a foundational figure for certain regional identities.
