Historical heritage conferences begin in Estepa and Ceuta
Several historical conferences have commenced in Spain to highlight regional heritage. In Estepa, the ‘La Cultura Tartésica en Estepa’ sessions focus on the municipality's Tartessian legacy. These studies stem from 1997 excavations that revealed an ancient settlement following a wall collapse. The program includes lectures on the modernization of tourism through technology and the European concept of cultural heritage, alongside discussions on the public management challenges of these historical sites.
In Ceuta, the XXIX History Conferences, titled ‘Ceuta y las artes. Historia, creación e investigación’, have begun at the Adolfo Suárez Library. Organized by the Instituto de Estudios Ceutíes, the event explores the intersection of history and art. Key presentations include an analysis of architect Andrés Galmés’s Art Deco influence in Larache and Ceuta, and a study of tilework as a visual archive between Ceuta and Tetuán.
