Hit-and-run traffic accidents reported in Germany, injuries and damage

On 26 June 2026, police in Eichstätt reported a series of incidents. A 20‑year‑old driver found her parked car damaged after an unknown vehicle struck the rear and fled the scene. In the nearby town of Eitensheim, a 26‑year‑old was lightly injured after a 46‑year‑old driver failed to yield while overtaking and collided with him at an intersection, leaving both cars severely damaged.

In Maikammer, Rhineland‑Palatinate, a 16‑year‑old roller‑skate rider was injured with bruises to his back and legs when a grey van ignored a stop sign and collided with him at a junction. The driver left the scene without providing details, prompting a police appeal for witnesses.

Additionally, a hillside fire of about 90 m² was quickly extinguished by the volunteer fire brigade near the federal road in Eichstätt, with weather conditions cited as the likely cause.
