Hitachi and JX Metals partner on talent development
Hitachi, Ltd. and JX Metals have announced a partnership to collaborate on human resource development at the Hitachi Industrial Vocational School. Starting with students enrolling in April 2027, graduates will have the option to pursue careers at JX Metals in addition to the Hitachi Group.
The vocational school, which has produced over 10,000 manufacturing professionals over its 115-year history, provides three years of training in electrical, mechanical, and welding skills. The curriculum is evolving to include Physical AI, integrating digital technology with practical training to meet the demands of modern manufacturing.
Both companies share roots in the Hitachi Mine and aim to transform Hitachi City in Ibaraki Prefecture into a hub for manufacturing talent. As part of this regional co-creation initiative, JX Metals will utilize the school’s training infrastructure and Physical AI curriculum to secure highly skilled personnel. Hitachi also plans to expand collaborations with local governments and universities.
