Hitachi Energy and Rockwell Automation partner on industrial electrification

Hitachi Energy and Rockwell Automation have formed a strategic alliance to develop an integrated architecture that connects industrial electrical infrastructure with production management systems. This partnership aims to address rising energy demands, decarbonization requirements, and budget constraints by coordinating energy supply decisions with production needs. The collaboration focuses on improving planning, engineering, and the development of digitalized mining operations through modular and scalable solutions.

Separately, Rockwell Automation has expanded its SecureOT managed cybersecurity services to support existing industrial technology infrastructure. The expansion includes the management of FortiGate firewalls and support for operational technology (OT) environments, including servers, switches, and industrial networks. These services are designed to manage multi-vendor platforms without requiring equipment replacement, providing 24-hour monitoring and maintenance to mitigate risks arising from the increased interconnection between information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT).
