Hitachi unveils AI systems for chemical plants and enterprise integration

Hitachi, Ltd. announced two new AI‑driven offerings. The first, called the Optimal Operation Guidance System, uses physical‑AI to recreate batch‑production processes of chemical‑product plants in a cyber environment. By visualising reactions, predicting equipment ageing and suggesting optimal DCS/PLC controls, it aims to reduce reliance on operator intuition, improve product quality and increase production efficiency.

The second product is the Agentic AI Integration Platform, which applies AI agents across all phases of system‑integration projects—from concept and requirements through design, coding, testing and operation. Internal tests showed up to a 240‑fold speedup in screen‑spec definition and about 200‑fold gains from design to test. Hitachi targets a 30 % productivity rise by FY 2027 and leverages technologies from partners such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Cloud and its own GlobalLogic AI tools.
