Hitachi Vantara VSP One Block achieves Common Criteria certification
Hitachi Vantara has announced that its ‘Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform One (VSP One) Block’ has obtained Common Criteria (ISO/IEC 15408) certification. This international certification confirms that the product’s critical security functions—including encryption, identification and authentication, security management, and secure communications—have been evaluated by a third-party organization based on recognized global standards.
The certification was achieved under the IT Security Evaluation and Certification Scheme (JISEC) operated by the Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA) in Japan, following the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA). The evaluation was based on the NDcPP Version 3.0e protection profile for network devices.
This achievement aims to support organizations in managing mission-critical data and ensuring business continuity amidst rising cyber threats and increasing regulatory requirements regarding data sovereignty and AI integration. Hitachi Vantara’s Chief Product Officer, Octavian Tanase, stated that the certification validates the reliability of the VSP One portfolio’s cyber resilience solutions.
