Hitit University student joins his son on campus at age 57

Vahap Akyol, a 57-year-old resident of Çorum, has enrolled at Hitit University to study alongside his 19-year-old son, Yiğithan Akyol. The decision began as a joke after Vahap closed his business and suggested to his son that they could pursue higher education together.

Vahap Akyol has been placed in the Ecological Building Technology department, while his son is a second-year student in the Construction department. Despite initial challenges adapting to the academic environment after a 40-year hiatus, Vahap noted that his son and fellow students have provided significant support during his first weeks of study.
