HITO members accused of assaulting Riangdo Veneers employees

A police complaint has been filed at the Madanriting Police Station alleging that members of the Hynñiewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO) physically assaulted three employees of Riangdo Veneers Pvt. Ltd. in Mawblei.

The incident reportedly occurred on September 3 during a meeting that had been arranged via telephone. According to the complaint, factory in-charge Pralay Kumar Jana and director Gautam Bora were taken into a meeting room where they were presented with a list of requirements and pressured to make immediate decisions. When they stated they needed to consult company management, they were allegedly assaulted.

Area Sales Manager Casper Tariang, who was instructed to wait outside and surrender his mobile phone, was also reportedly assaulted and kicked in the back after exiting the building. The complaint names Lambert Mawlong and unidentified HITO members as participants in the assault. The company has requested that police register an FIR, identify the unknown individuals, and ensure the safety of its staff.
