Hitoshi Matsumoto discusses health and smoking trends in new video

Comedian Hitoshi Matsumoto recently appeared in a behind-the-scenes documentary for the service ‘DOWNTOWN+’, where he discussed the smoking habits of younger comedians. During a conversation with fellow entertainers Kukkii! and Kendo Kobayashi, Matsumoto noted that his juniors frequently smoke, a sentiment echoed by Kobayashi, who remarked that the current generation has returned to smoking after a period of decline.

During the exchange, Matsumoto referenced his recent diagnosis of colorectal cancer, using the topic to add humor to the conversation by stating, ‘I have cancer.’ The video, released on the Downtown official YouTube channel, captures an informal interaction between the senior comedian and his juniors.
