Toppidrettsveka 2026: Fosnæs and Nilsson secure victories

The Toppidrettsveka 2026 competition series has seen intense results across various disciplines. In the women’s 10km skating event at Brekka Opp, Kristin Austgulen Fosnæs secured victory by a narrow 2.4-second margin over Nora Sanness. In the men's 10km skating, Mattis Stenshagen took first place, followed by 19-year-old Leopold Strand.

Earlier in the weekend, Swedish star Stina Nilsson won the women’s 32km classic long-distance race on Hitra after a tight mass sprint. In the men's 53km long-distance race, Johan Hoel claimed victory. The event also marked a difficult comeback for Olympic champion Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, who finished 43rd in the 53km race, describing the experience as a “shock start” where he felt he “withered in his arms.”

The competition continues with various sprint and pursuit events scheduled in Aure and Trondheim.
