Hjertehusene director receives five-year management ban

Lene Hast Møllegaard, owner and director of the social care facility Hjertehusene, has been handed a five-year management ban by Socialtilsyn Midt. The ban prohibits her from holding leadership positions or board memberships in social services that are approved by or seeking approval from a social supervisory authority.

Additionally, the Appeals Board (Ankestyrelsen) has finalized the decision to close Hjertehusene. Socialtilsyn Midt cited serious and persistent management failures and a significant breakdown in trust as the basis for both the closure and the leadership ban.

Møllegaard has criticized the supervisory authority, claiming the decisions jeopardize legal certainty. She suggested the actions might be driven by a personal or political agenda against private social care providers rather than concerns for residents. While acknowledging she made mistakes, she maintains they were not severe enough to warrant closure or a ban, and asserts that no citizens suffered harm or mistreatment under her leadership.
