Hjørring retail turnover reaches 4.3 billion DKK

Hjørring is focusing on revitalizing its city center through a combination of commerce, culture, and sports. Despite changing consumer habits and the rise of e-commerce, which sees approximately 4,000 packages arriving in the city daily, local officials emphasize the area's continued attractiveness.

In 2023, retail in Hjørring Municipality generated 4.3 billion DKK in turnover and supported 4,884 jobs. A significant portion of this revenue comes from outside the municipality, with tourists contributing approximately 800 million DKK and external customers contributing around 600 million DKK. The city aims to leverage its active cultural life and sports institutions, such as Vendsyssel FF and Dana Cup SportsCenter, to maintain its appeal.
