Hjørring schools host practice‑focused temaday and staff kickoff
More than 200 employees from Hjørring Municipality’s schools gathered at the Idrætscenter Vendsyssel in Vrå for a one‑day temaday centred on practice‑based teaching. Lendum Skole presented its recent projects, with teachers Marianne and Jacob explaining how hands‑on activities have boosted student motivation and skill development. Workshops and exchanges allowed participants to see how theory can be linked to practical work across the municipality’s schools.
Later, around 550 pedagogical staff attended a municipality‑wide kickoff to launch the new school year. Speakers included psychologist Tinne Quistorff, who highlighted the role of inclusive learning environments, and Torben Bloksgaard of Nordic Learning, who discussed how participation‑oriented schools improve wellbeing and achievement. School chief Peter Fogde Mikkelsen emphasized the ambition to create schools where every child feels belonging and thrives, outlining upcoming initiatives such as the Strong Schools program and staff competence development.
