HK inno.N secures world's first global EPD for K-CAB oral medication

HK inno.N has announced that its gastroesophageal reflux disease treatment, K-CAB 50mg, has become the world’s first oral finished pharmaceutical product to obtain a global Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

During a ceremony held in Oslo, Norway, the company received the certification from EPD-Global and the International Sustainability Certification Institute (IGSC). The EPD serves as an environmental identity card, quantifying the environmental impact of a product throughout its entire lifecycle—from raw material production to manufacturing and distribution—based on international standards.

The certification was achieved following the establishment of the PAS 2090:2025 international standard for pharmaceutical environmental assessment by the British Standards Institution (BSI). By securing this third-party verified EPD, HK inno.N can provide objective environmental data to global buyers and partners, particularly in response to increasing demands for Scope 3 carbon emission calculations and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) due diligence in international markets.
