HK Nitra secures home arena rights despite Champions League loss

HK Nitra secured an exception from competition authorities to play their Champions League home matches at their own stadium after facing technical issues regarding the arena's boards and plexiglass requirements. Assistant coach Dušan Milo noted that the management worked to resolve the situation to ensure the team could play in front of their home fans.

On the ice, HK Nitra suffered a 1-6 defeat against Swedish champions Skellefteå AIK. Head coach Erik Čaládi noted a significant gap in speed and quality between the two leagues, particularly in the first period where Nitra was outshot 14-1. Despite the heavy loss, Čaládi observed that the team showed improvement and increased competitiveness as the match progressed.
