HK Nitra has secured two significant victories during their Champions Hockey League (CHL) trip to Finland. Following a 4-1 win against KooKoo, the team defeated SaiPa Lappeenranta 3-2 in overtime.

The decisive goal was scored just 67 seconds into overtime by Dmytro Timashov, who beat goalkeeper Gustav Grigals via a backhand shot. Earlier in the match, Brett Pollock and Hugo Kováč provided scoring for Nitra, while Mikko Perttu and Brian Kramer scored for the home side.

With these results, HK Nitra has moved to 5th place in the 24-team CHL standings, placing them in a qualifying position. Coach Erik Čaládi noted that the victories demonstrate the team's growth following initial losses against Swedish opponents and serve as valuable preparation for their upcoming domestic season.
