HK Spišská Nová Ves updates roster with Finnish forward Teemu Lepaus

HK Spišská Nová Ves has announced two changes to its roster. Latvian forward Raimonds Vitolinš has departed the club after a one-month trial failed to secure him a contract for the remainder of the season.

In his place, the Tipsport liga club has signed 33-year-old Finnish forward Teemu Lepaus. Lepaus, a creative winger and center from Tampere, has agreed to a deal for the upcoming season with an option extending through the 2027/2028 season. He joins the team following a productive period in various European leagues, including stints in Germany, Norway, and Sweden.

Club General Manager Richard Rapáč highlighted Lepaus’s creativity and playmaking abilities, noting his potential to lead power plays. Head coach Jakub Petr stated that the decision to bring in Lepaus was a strategic move to acquire the specific type of player the team currently requires.
