HLB reports consistent efficacy of liver cancer drug combination across age groups
HLB's US subsidiary, Ellevate Therapeutics, announced that the combination therapy of Rivoceranib and Camrelizumab demonstrated consistent efficacy across different age groups in a post-hoc analysis of the CARES-310 global phase 3 clinical trial. The study, which focused on patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC), will be presented at the International Liver Cancer Association (ILCA) 2026 annual meeting in Brussels.
The analysis showed that patients under 50 years old achieved a median overall survival (mOS) of 21.5 months, compared to 15.2 months for the Sorafenib group. For patients aged 50 and older, the mOS was 23.9 months versus 15.2 months. Notably, younger patients under 40 also showed improved results, with an mOS of 24.2 months compared to 15.2 months for the Sorafenib group. Median progression-free survival (mPFS) also showed improvements across these age cohorts.
Safety profiles remained consistent across age groups, with common grade 3-4 adverse events being hypertension for the combination group and hand-foot syndrome for the Sorafenib group. Following a previous Complete Response Letter (CRL) from the FDA regarding manufacturing site inspections, Ellevate is currently working with partners to proceed with a new New Drug Application (NDA) submission.
