Hélder Sousa Silva hosts Brussels hearing on AI and culture

European Parliament MEP Hélder Sousa Silva hosted a hearing in Brussels with over 30 entities from the cultural and creative sectors to discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on the ecosystem.

As the rapporteur for an initiative report titled ‘The cultural and creative sectors in the age of artificial intelligence’, Sousa Silva aims to identify the opportunities, risks, and concerns associated with the technology. The discussions were organized into four thematic blocks: music, audiovisual, publishing and media, and digital platforms and technological intermediaries. The goal is to ensure that European policy and legislative responses are adjusted to the reality of the sector.
