Hülya Avşar leaves television series for theater

Turkish actress Hülya Avşar has announced her decision to step away from television series following the cancellation of her show, ‘Aynı Yağmur Altında’. The series, which aired on ATV, concluded after only seven episodes due to low viewership ratings.

Avşar expressed frustration with the current state of the television industry, citing intense competition and the tendency for productions to be canceled prematurely. She described the environment as a “strange war” where participants attempt to undermine one another rather than allowing shows time to find an audience.

Moving forward, Avşar intends to focus on theater. She is currently preparing for her new project, the musical ‘Kanlı Nigar’.
