HM Hospitales and Grupo Médico Joya sign healthcare alliance
HM Hospitales and Grupo Médico Joya have signed a strategic collaboration agreement to establish a healthcare cooperation framework between Spain and Mexico. The agreement was signed on September 10, 2026, at the Mexican Embassy in Spain, with participation from HM Hospitales President Dr. Juan Abarca Cidón and Grupo Médico Joya CEO Dr. Armando Joya Munguía.
The partnership focuses on four strategic areas: talent development and training, exchange of best practices, market intelligence, and continuity of care. To promote clinical talent, the organizations will implement medical rotations, fellowships, and exchanges for healthcare and nursing staff to share different care models.
A key component of the agreement is ensuring continuity of care, which aims to facilitate medical coordination for patients requiring treatment while residing or traveling in either country. The alliance combines HM Hospitales’ research and teaching-oriented network with Grupo Médico Joya’s 25 years of experience in the Mexican hospital sector, particularly in tourist destinations.
