H&M partners with Wardrobe NYC for minimalist capsule collection

Swedish fast‑fashion retailer H&M has teamed up with New York‑based label Wardrobe NYC to launch a 29‑piece capsule collection aimed at minimalist wardrobes. The collaboration, founded by fashion editor Christine Centenera and designer Josh Goot, draws on the timeless, season‑less aesthetic of 1990s New York girls, offering versatile pieces such as fitted blazers, ribbed tanks, denim jackets and off‑the‑shoulder knit dresses. The collection, scheduled to debut on August 6, is described by the creators as “foundational” and built to endure repeated wear, with an emphasis on precise cuts and high‑quality fabrics.

H&M’s creative advisor Ann‑Sofie Johansson highlighted the challenge of creating basics that are both practical and stylish, noting that the line is intended for an ageless, diverse audience. The partnership reflects Wardrobe NYC’s uniform‑based approach to dressing, extending its minimalist philosophy to a broader global market.
