H&M to open new store in Chelmsford shopping centre

H&M is scheduled to open a new store at the High Chelmer Shopping Centre in Chelmsford, Essex, on Thursday, September 17. The new location spans over 1,350 square metres across two floors and features an open-plan layout.

The facility will include modern retail technology such as RFID-enabled checkouts, self-service tills, and click-and-collect lockers. The store will stock womenswear, menswear, kidswear, and the Divided collection.

The opening coincides with the launch of the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2026 season. To celebrate, the retailer plans to host in-store entertainment, including a DJ, and offer gifts to the first 150 H&M members who make a purchase.
