HMD announces Asha 305 budget smartphone

HMD has announced the HMD Asha 305, an entry-level smartphone that revives the Asha brand name from its Nokia heritage. The device is designed for budget-conscious users, focusing on essential connectivity through a lightweight, stripped-down experience.

The smartphone features a 5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 854x480 pixels. It is powered by a Unisoc T137 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD. For photography, the device includes a 2MP main rear camera with an LED flash and a 2MP selfie camera.

A notable feature is the inclusion of a removable 2,500mAh battery, which supports 5W charging and is claimed to last up to 32 hours on a single charge. The device runs on Pulse OS, a customized operating system based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Notably, the phone does not include Google Play services or standard Google applications; instead, HMD provides its own app store featuring “lite” versions of various applications.

The HMD Asha 305 is available in black and lime green. While official global pricing has not been released, the device has appeared in the Philippines for approximately 3,990 Philippine pesos.
