HMD Fusion second generation leaks amid reports of market withdrawal
Leaked specifications suggest a second-generation HMD Fusion is in development for the European market. According to leaker smashx_60, the new model will feature an upgrade to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, a significant improvement over the original's Snapdragon 4 Gen 2.
The device is expected to retain a 6.56-inch display but will upgrade to an FHD+ IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Camera upgrades include a 100-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 2-megapixel secondary camera, and a 50-megapixel front camera. Memory options are expected to increase to 8GB or 12GB, with virtual expansion up to 24GB, while the battery remains at 5,000mAh with 33W charging.
Parallel to these hardware leaks, reports indicate HMD may be withdrawing from certain markets to focus on specific regions and enterprise devices. The company is reportedly not planning any global product launches this year. While HMD continues to release products in markets like Thailand and India, it has already ceased smartphone sales in several regions following the end of its partnership with Nokia.
