Nokia 2360 Flip launched by HMD for seniors and students
HMD Global has introduced the Nokia 2360 Flip, a clamshell feature phone designed specifically for senior citizens and students. The device emphasizes safety and ease of use through several specialized features.
A key highlight is the Family Assist function, which allows relatives to remotely manage the device via a companion smartphone app on Android or iOS. Using SMS communication, family members can add contacts, adjust volume, set reminders, and configure emergency settings without needing a mobile data plan on the Nokia handset.
For emergency situations, the phone includes a dedicated SOS button on the rear panel. Holding the button for three seconds automatically calls a pre-set number and sends alert messages to up to five emergency contacts. For younger users, the device offers parental controls, including a School Mode that restricts functionality to a clock and emergency calls, as well as the ability to block specific features like the camera or games.
The hardware features a 2.8-inch main QVGA display and a 1.77-inch external screen. It is equipped with a removable 1,450mAh battery, a QVGA camera, FM radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device is available in Burgundy Red, Charcoal, and Teal. However, the phone is limited to 2G connectivity, which may affect its usability in regions where 2G networks have been decommissioned.
