Hämeenlinna and Mikkeli municipal boards announce new financial and administrative decisions

The city administration of Hämeenlinna and Mikkelin kaupunki have announced several administrative and financial decisions.

Hämeenlinna has proposed the dissolution of its business fund balance sheet unit, effective November 30, 2026, with all assets and liabilities to be transferred to the city's accounting. Additionally, the city has approved the establishment of a Catalyst Fund for investment activities. The city will commit 1,000,000 euros to the fund, including an initial investment of 400,000 euros, acting as a silent partner.

In Mikkelin kaupunki, the administration has proposed approval for a zoning plan change in the Savilahti district regarding the Veturitallit area. The city also decided to continue food and cleaning services as in-house operations while developing an efficiency program to achieve savings. Furthermore, Mikkelin kaupunki will support the development of the Lake Saimaa DMO, allocating up to 20,000 euros for its startup phase.
