HMM hosts ‘Bluehmming’ plogging campaign at Yeouido Hangang Park

HMM held its ‘Bluehmming’ plogging campaign on September 19 at Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul. The event brought together approximately 60 participants, including HMM employees and recruited citizens, to clean up urban waterways to prevent waste from entering the ocean.

The program featured a lecture by Julian Quintart, an environmental activist and EU Climate Action Goodwill Ambassador. Quintart introduced the ‘One Health’ concept, emphasizing the connection between planetary and human health, and encouraged small daily actions to combat the climate crisis.

Following the lecture, participants collected various types of waste, including discarded plastics, cigarette butts, and single-use vinyl, from the park area. This initiative is part of HMM’s ongoing ESG (Environment, Social, and Global) social contribution strategy, which includes five years of plogging and beachcombing activities.
