Hünfeld Athletics Club Prepares for Season at Kienbaum Training Center
Twelve athletes from Hünfeld Sportverein spent five intensive days at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Kienbaum, near Berlin, to fine‑tune their preparation for upcoming national competitions. The program included sprint, middle‑distance, relay, jumps, throws, yoga and strength work, with daily sessions lasting 2½–3 hours.
The camp coincided with training of elite German throwers, including Olympic shot‑put champion Yemisi Ogunleye, and three‑time Asian champion Ashraf El‑Seify of Qatar. Hünfeld athletes are targeting the German Team Championships for the U16 and U20 categories, the Hessian DJMM U14 championships, and the Hessenfinale U12 team competition.
Coaches emphasized the high‑quality facilities and the quiet, forested environment of Kienbaum as key factors in helping the young athletes reach peak condition ahead of the season’s highlights.
