HNK Ivan pl. Zajc launches new season in Rijeka

The HNK Ivan pl. Zajc in Rijeka has launched its new theatrical season with a tribute to The Beatles. The opening event featured a concert by The Beatles Revival Orchestra, combining the Beatles Revival Band with a symphony orchestra and an opera choir to perform timeless songs in new orchestral arrangements.

The upcoming season is scheduled to include 16 premieres, 8 concerts, and various special events. Intendant Dubravka Vrgoč noted that the season is dedicated to stories of unity and connection to help audiences navigate difficult historical, political, and ecological times.

Additionally, the theatre will host an Open House day on September 15. The program includes guided tours of theatre workshops in the former Torpedo space to showcase the creation of costumes and scenography, as well as tours of the theatre building itself to reveal technical processes and historical archives. The day will conclude with a social gathering and DJ set.
