Kantrida Stadium hosts Rijeka and Union Berlin friendly for Damir Kreilach

HNK Rijeka and Union Berlin played a friendly match at the Kantrida Stadium in Croatia, marking a significant return to the historic venue for Rijeka after five years of playing elsewhere. The event served as a tribute to Damir Kreilach, a former captain of both clubs, who played briefly for both sides before his official retirement from professional football.

Approximately 850 Union Berlin supporters traveled to the Kvarner region to support the German club and honor Kreilach. The visiting fans displayed choreography and banners, including a message of support for Rijeka fans in their efforts to return home to Kantrida. The match ended in a 1-0 victory for Union Berlin, with the lone goal scored by Skarke in the sixth minute.

The atmosphere was heightened by pyrotechnics and displays from both the Union Berlin supporters and Rijeka’s Armada group. The event was attended by an estimated 7,000 spectators, bringing together multiple generations of fans at the stadium.
