HNS under investigation by USKOK over Adidas deal

The Croatian Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime (USKOK) has launched investigations into the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) regarding a sponsorship deal with Adidas. The contract, reportedly worth approximately 80 million euros over ten years, is under scrutiny to determine if any illegal commissions were paid to intermediaries or officials.

HNS President Marijan Kustić has addressed the investigation, stating that neither he, nor any employee or agency, has received any commission from the deal. He emphasized that the contract is the largest in the history of Croatian sports and that all funds will remain within the federation. Kustić noted that he supports increased oversight of sports organizations.

In a separate matter, USKOK has also filed charges against Lazar Darojković, a member of the NK Dugo Selo executive board, for allegedly attempting to bribe a football referee. The official, who is also a police officer, reportedly rejected the bribe offered to influence a match outcome to help the club avoid relegation.
