Vietnam expands digital health records and free health screenings in major cities

From 1 July, Ho Chi Minh City residents can access electronic health records through the city’s “Digital Citizen” app, a service developed by FPT in partnership with the Health Department and the city’s Digital Transformation Center. The platform consolidates personal data, test results and medical histories, enabling users to monitor weight, blood pressure, blood sugar and other indicators.

In parallel, Hanoi has launched a city‑wide, free periodic health‑check programme covering about 9.2 million residents, prioritising seniors, people with disabilities, low‑income households and those with chronic conditions. Mobile health stations and local clinics provide comprehensive examinations, laboratory tests and imaging.

Ho Chi Minh City is also accelerating its own universal health‑check campaign, and the Phú Thọ Hòa ward has begun a 100‑day free‑screening drive, part of the broader effort to provide comprehensive, preventative care to all citizens.
