Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports responds to Truong Giang controversy

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports has issued a response regarding recent controversies involving artist Truong Giang. The public debate arose following the resurfacing of past statements and actions by the artist, which led to criticism regarding his conduct toward colleagues and female artists.

In its official communication, the Department emphasized that performing artists must not only comply with legal regulations, such as Decree No. 144/2020/ND-CP, but also maintain professional ethics and cultural conduct. This is particularly vital for artists with significant public influence.

Citing the Code of Conduct for those working in the arts, the Department noted that artists are required to respect the legal rights and interests of organizations and individuals, avoid harming the reputation, health, or dignity of others, and maintain their own professional integrity. Regarding interactions with colleagues, artists must respect and protect their peers' reputations and remain honest and responsible in their public statements.
