Ho Chi Minh City Hat Boi Art Theater to join Thang Long-Ha Noi Festival

The Ho Chi Minh City Hat Boi Art Theater has announced its participation in the second Thang Long-Ha Noi Festival in 2026. The theater will perform an excerpt titled ‘Tran Binh Trong tuân tiết’, which depicts the historical figure Tran Binh Trong and his refusal to surrender to the Yuan-Mongol invaders during the Tran Dynasty.

In addition to the historical drama, the theater will present ‘Le Dai boi’, a traditional ritual performance of Southern Hat Boi art. This ritual is inspired by the Nguyen Dynasty’s Ngan Giao altar ceremonies and is designed to symbolize the harmony between heaven, earth, and humanity while praying for peace and prosperity.
