Ho Chi Minh City Hits 1 Million Health Check‑ups and Electronic Records in Two Months

Within two months of launching a citywide health‑check programme, more than 1 million residents of Ho Chi Minh City have been examined and had electronic health records created, the city health department reported on July 25. The initiative, begun on May 25, mobilised 168 commune health stations, public and private hospitals, mobile clinics and home‑visits for the elderly and disabled, aiming to build a digital health ecosystem for lifelong care.

At the national level, Vietnam’s Ministry of Health is running a 100‑day campaign to establish and update electronic health books on the VNeID platform. The campaign seeks to clean, standardise and enrich health data, connect nearly 1,000 health facilities via API by 31 August, and provide a dashboard for monitoring progress. Officials say the digital records will improve disease surveillance, policy planning and reduce administrative burdens for citizens.
